Cookie Policy

The short version: a few essential cookies keep you signed in, a few optional ones tell us what’s working — and you choose, via our banner, before any optional cookie is set.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember things between page loads — like the fact that you’re signed in. They are not programs and cannot read your files. Some cookies contain no personal data at all; where a cookie value (such as an IP-linked identifier) counts as personal data, we treat it under our Privacy Policy.

2. Cookies we use

  • Essential (session) — the sign-in session cookie that keeps your workspace open, plus security tokens that block forged requests. These expire when your session ends and cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in.
  • Preference (persistent) — small flags remembering choices like your cookie-banner decision, so we don’t ask twice. These live in your browser until their expiry date or until you clear them.
  • Analytics — first-party measurement of which pages are visited and where visitors arrive from, used in aggregate to improve the site. Set only if you accept.
  • Advertising measurement — where we run campaigns, cookies that tell us a visit came from a given campaign and cap how often an ad is shown. Set only if you accept.

3. Why we use them

Four reasons only: keeping you securely signed in; remembering your choices; understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it; and measuring whether our marketing works — including identifying referral sources and limiting ad frequency. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you for third parties.

On your first visit, our banner asks you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Nothing optional is set before you choose, and declining never blocks you from using the site. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the site’s cookies in your browser — the banner will ask again on your next visit.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you view, delete and block cookies: look under Settings → Privacy in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari or Opera. Blocking all cookies will prevent sign-in from working on this and most other sites.

6. Third parties

A small number of service providers set cookies in the course of serving you — for example our payment provider (Stripe) during checkout, for fraud prevention. Those cookies are governed by the provider’s own policy, and we only work with providers that meet recognised privacy standards.
